Louie Mihail wasn’t trying to build something big, just something steady for his family. Over time, customers kept coming back, bringing friends, then family, until it became part of the neighbourhood.

1980 - As Scarborough grew, so did the restaurant. Pizza was added alongside burgers, giving people more to come back for, whether it was a quick stop after school or an easy meal on the way home. By 1986, George was working full-time, putting in long days to keep things running the right way.

2000s - The burger was already a favourite before it had a name. When a Mojo Radio 640 AM contest came around, George entered with the same homemade burger they served every day and won. It became known as the Mojo Burger, an 8oz classic with bacon and cheese that people still tell you to order first.

George and his wife Sophie stepped in and carried it forward, keeping everything the same, from the recipes to the way the food was made. It wasn’t about changing things, it was about protecting what people relied on.
